Dr. Brockmeyer received his Doctor of Medicine and his Doctor of Philosophy degrees at the Yale University School of Medicine. Upon graduation from medical school, he was awarded membership of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school honor society. He received his orthopedic residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
In 1988, Dr. Brockmeyer joined the practice that has become The Orthopedic Group.
Over the past 20 years he has become well known in the Pittsburgh area for his excellence in total hip and total knee replacements. He has had further training and experience in newer techniques, such as the Oxford Uni-Compartmental Partial Knee surgery and Birmingham Hip Resurfacing. He is one of the first surgeons to perform BHR surgery in Pennsylvania. His primary surgical interests include total joint replacement, general orthopedics and problems of the hand. Dr. Brockmeyer is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Baron received his Doctor of Medicine from the Georgetown University School of Medicine where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school honor society. He then completed his orthopedic training at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
He is the founding partner of the Orthopedic Group and has been practicing in the Pittsburgh region for more than 25 years. During that time, he has become one of the busiest joint replacement surgeons in the region, and has built an outstanding reputation for his total hip and total knee replacements. He performed one of the first Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedures in Pennsylvania, and completed training and performs the Oxford Uni-Compartmental Partial Knee surgery as well.
He is a past President of the Medical Staff at Monongahela Valley Hospital, serves on its Executive Board, and is the Chairman of the Department of Surgery. Dr. Baron is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Pressman received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He completed subspecialty training in sports medicine, arthroscopy, revision joint replacement and the treatment of arthritis at the most advanced center in Canada. He had additional training in cartilage resurfacing at Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston. He holds fellowships in orthopedic surgery, joint reconstruction, the treatment of sports injuries and allograft transplantation from the University of Ottawa and the University of Toronto.
Dr. Pressman holds a Masters of Health Education, and actively participates as a surgeon educator and lecturer. His areas of expertise include the biologic treatment of arthritis, total hip and knee replacements, revision joint replacements, sports injuries, as well as general orthopedics. He is highly skilled in performing the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure.
Dr. Pressman is Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
